Mateo Haeck

Mateo Haeck is a Barbadian American singer, producer, songwriter, guitarist, composer, and sound engineer living in Todos Santos, B.C.S. Mexico. He currently teaches guitar and voice, collaborates on a wide variety of musical projects and events, and oversees the recording studio at Panteón 19, a project dedicated to creativity and community in Baja California Sur. Mateo has shared stages with artists such as John Paul Jones, Margo Price, Peter Yarrow, Gaby Moreno, Peter Buck, Langhorne Slim, Joseph Arthur, and many others. Since relocating to Mexico in 2017 after a 10-year stint in Nashville, he has fallen in love with Latin music and his sound continues to evolve from country-tinged Americana, integrating a broader and more colorful musical palette. He sings in both English and Spanish and, along with Argentinian guitarist Julio Hanna, co-founded La Todos Santos Cumbia Band, in which he plays bass. Mateo is passionate about living open-heartedly in the present moment, and is aided regularly by his Zen master, Bonnie, the mini schnauzer.
